Kat and I had a great Thanksgiving week in Iowa with her parents. It was fun visiting with the nieces, playing Xbox with her brother, eating lots of goodies all week long. Even the weather was accommodating, until the drive home.
We were one of the many stuck in western Nebraska on Sunday night due to the nasty storm that covered the roads with inch think ice and forced many cars, trucks, and semis into the ditch. It was a nerve-wracking drive from Omaha to North Platte, where we pulled off just 20 minutes before they closed the highway!
Anyway, we are home again, plus one. Kat couldn't resist (and neither could I) and we rescued a sick kitten off of the Bainbridge Farm. She's still fighting off a cold, but she's definitely looking better. And we've named her Lucy.
And now Christmas season is in full effect! We're trekking up to the mountains this weekend to cut down a Christmas tree, and we already have a bunch of presents to put underneath it. And I can just imagine the fun we'll have keeping another kitten out of the bows and ribbons.
